ING Investment Management has hired Jonathan Golub to fill its newly created position of chief market strategist, the Dutch bank said today. Golub, who will also join the asset allocation team, will provide market and economic insights and generate investment ideas for ING’s institutional and financial advisor clients.

Previously, Golub was chief investment strategist at Bear Stearns & Co., from May 2007 to May 2008. Before that, he was U.S. Equity Strategist and co-head of U.S. Equity client portfolio management at JP Morgan Asset Management, where he worked for six years until 2007. In addition to his market strategy responsibilities at ING, Golub will also be part of the bank’s investment solutions group, reporting to Paul Zemsky, who is head of asset allocation and multi-manager investments. “Given the undulating and unpredictable market environment we’re operating in, Jonathan will make it easier for our institutional clients and financial advisors to understand the complexities of the global marketplace,” said Rob Leary, chairman and chief executive officer of ING Investment Management, Americas.
