For the first time in eight years, the top advisor from our Top 50 Ranking of Bank Advisors was a woman.
Debra Alberto of Wells Fargo isn’t in one of the big financial centers like New York or San Francisco. She doesn’t benefit from a market with millions of prospects like she’d find in Los Angeles or Chicago. Instead, she has forged a big career in Clive, Iowa, near Des Moines. And she’s done so in a business dominated by men. (Check out all the winners on our website.)
Alberto told us that, when she started in the business 25 years ago, she was the only female advisor on her team, and remained so for almost the next decade. She found mentors along the way and built an impressive career.
Our ranking is purely quantitative and Alberto’s strong numbers across the board carried her to the top of the list. There were other advisors who ranked higher in one or two of our categories, such as assets under management or production. But when taken as a whole, nobody performed better in all of them combined. The same could be said about most of our top 10 advisors: consistency won the day.
At Bank Investment Consultant, we also want to be regarded for consistency and quality. To that end, we have progressively increased the content we deliver to the bank wealth management community—particularly online. As part of this evolution, Bank Investment Consultant adopts an all-digital format beginning next month.
Our expanding digital strategy means additional content and more frequent newsletters on topics such as practice management, careers and retirement. We plan more exclusive lists and rankings, and special, in-depth reports each month that explore developing industry trends.
Have a great holiday and join us online, every day, in the New Year at bankinvestmentconsultant.com.
