Webster Private Bank finally has its trio of functional leaders in place.

On Friday, the Waterbury, Conn.-based bank hired a director of Private Bank Lending, a critical position in the build-out of Webster’s wealth management business. Peter N. Russell will lead a team of private bank lending professionals in identifying and meeting the credit needs of high-net-worth clientele, the bank said.

Russell was previously with Bankwell Financial Group in New Canaan, Conn., where he served as chief credit officer. Prior to that, he was senior credit officer in the private banking divisions of HSBC Bank USA and The Bank of New York and relationship manager at Wachovia, Chase Manhattan Private Bank, Fleet Private Bank and Citigroup.

“We are very excited to welcome Peter to our growing team of highly experienced private banking professionals,” Dan FitzPatrick, executive vice president and head of Webster Private Bank, said in a statement. “His skill set and personal leadership abilities will be extremely important to our success in driving Webster Private Bank to be a significant growth business for Webster Bank.”

The appointment is the last of three critical positions to be filled since FitzPatrick joined the private bank in October of 2012.  Webster Private Bank named Yves Cochez chief investment strategist in May of 2013 and two months later appointed Timothy Throckmorton director of Fiduciary Services. All three positions are key to the expansion of the private bank, FitzPatrick told Bank Investment Consultant in December of 2012.

Webster Private Bank provides banking, investment management, fiduciary and planning advisory services to individuals, families and charitable entities with at least $1 million in investable assets.
