Wilmington Trust this month opened its doors in Albany, N.Y.
The wealth manager will provide clients of its affiliate M&T Bank with expanded wealth management and investment services, while developing new business, Wilmington said.

The new wealth advisory team in Albany consists of three female advisors who joined the firm in late spring, according to a Kent Wissinger, communication manager at Wilmington. They will draw upon a regional support team of wealth and investment specialists.
Sandra Besso Plowinske joined the Albany team as the senior private client advisor, specializing in developing strategies for the creation, protection and efficient distribution of wealth for families. She was previously with Key Investment Services, where she was a wealth advisor.
Elizabeth Squires joined as a fiduciary trust advisor and handles estate and trust administration matters for individuals and their families as well as institutions and foundations. Prior to joining Wilmington, she was a senior trust officer at Key Private Bank.
Heather Ford joined the team as a private banker, focusing on the banking needs of the firms clients. She was formerly with KeyBank, where she worked as a business banking relationship manager.

M&T Bank acquired Wilmington in May 2011 to boost its flagging wealth management business. Since the acquisition, it merged its own investment management arm into Wilmington Trust to create a single wealth advisory firm serving clients throughout the United States and internationally.
