Wintrust Wealth Management, the investment services subsidiary of Rosemont, Ill.-based Wintrust Financial Corp., has snagged a financial advisor from RBC Wealth Management.

David A. Gaffney joined the firm as vice president of investments and financial advisor. He splits his time between the Community Bank of Willowbrook and the Community Bank of Western Springs, two of several dozen community banks Wintrust's holding company owns in the greater Chicago area, including northwest Indiana and southern Wisconsin.

Gaffney was previously a financial advisor in the Orland Park, Ill. office of RBC Wealth Management for six years. He also previously worked at A.G. Edwards and spent 12 years working as a bond trader at the Chicago Board of Trade, according to Wintrust.

"I am delighted to have David A. Gaffney join our investment team," the firm's regional manager, Don Clark, said in a statement. "He has a great amount of expertise and a strong commitment to service."

According to its most recent earnings release, Wintrust Financial Corp. generated $71.3 million in revenue from its wealth management operations in 2014, up 13% from the year before. Brokerage accounted for $30.4 million, while trust and asset management accounted for $40.9 million.
